Collection: Secoh JDK Air Pumps

Secoh JDK air pumps come in three key variants:

  • Standard
  • Signal cable
  • Low pressure alarm

The signal cable version has a 'C' at the end of its name, i.e. JDK 60C. This version has a signal cable instead of the built-in light on the standard version of the Secoh air pump. It can be attached to a beacon which will flash if the air pump needs attention.

The low pressure alarm version has 'AL' at the end of its name. The mounted alarm box emits an audible alert when it detects the Secoh air pumps pressure has reduced, usually meaning the pump has stopped running.

Choosing the right Secoh JDK air pump

The Secoh JDK range of linear diaphragm air pumps is widely used for sewage treatment plants, wastewater aeration and other applications requiring a reliable continuous air supply. The range covers different airflow requirements, from smaller JDK models through to higher-output pumps for larger systems.

Which Secoh JDK pump do I need?

If you are replacing an existing Secoh pump, the model number on the old pump is usually the best place to start. Many JDK models are direct successors to older Secoh EL pumps, making it easier to identify the appropriate modern replacement.

For a new application, don't choose a pump on litres per minute alone. The airflow a pump can deliver reduces as backpressure increases, so the required operating pressure and airflow should both be considered. Aeration depth, pipework, diffusers and restrictions within the system can all affect backpressure.

Each Greenleaf Pumps JDK product page includes model-specific performance information to help you compare airflow at different pressures.

Standard, C and alarm versions

Several Secoh JDK models are available in more than one configuration.

Standard JDK-S models are the normal choice where a separate pump-status signal or integral alarm is not required.

JDK-S C models include a signal cable that can be used with an external warning system or beacon. These are particularly useful where the installation needs a visible indication of pump failure.

JDK-S AL models incorporate a low-pressure alarm.

If you are replacing an existing pump, check its complete model designation rather than relying only on the airflow number. For example, a JDK-S-80, JDK-S-80C and JDK-S-80AL have different monitoring or alarm arrangements.

Replacing an older Secoh EL air pump

The JDK range superseded many of Secoh's older EL-series air pumps. If your treatment plant still uses an EL model, a JDK pump may therefore be the appropriate replacement.

Check the original model, required airflow, operating pressure and any alarm or signal connection before ordering. If you're uncertain, Greenleaf Pumps can help identify the appropriate replacement from the details of your existing pump and installation.

Secoh JDK servicing and spare parts

A complete pump is not always necessary when performance deteriorates. Secoh JDK pumps are serviceable, with replacement diaphragms, filters and service kits available for the range.

If an existing pump has stopped working or has reduced output, check whether servicing is appropriate before replacing the complete unit. Greenleaf Pumps also stocks a dedicated range of Secoh JDK diaphragms, filters and service kits.

What is a Secoh JDK air pump?

The Secoh JDK is a range of oil-free linear diaphragm air pumps designed to provide a continuous supply of air. They are commonly used with sewage treatment plants, wastewater aeration systems and other applications requiring reliable low-pressure airflow.

Which Secoh JDK pump do I need?

If you are replacing an existing pump, start with the full model number shown on its label. For a new application, both the required airflow and operating pressure need to be considered. The correct pump cannot always be selected from its litres-per-minute rating alone because airflow changes with backpressure.

What is the difference between JDK-S and JDK-S C pumps?

Standard JDK-S models are supplied without the additional external warning connection found on C versions. JDK-S C models have a signal cable for connection to a compatible external warning system or beacon. Check the complete model number when replacing an existing pump.

What does AL mean on a Secoh JDK pump?

AL identifies JDK models fitted with a low-pressure alarm. These can provide an audible warning if pressure falls, helping indicate a problem with the pump or aeration system.

Can a Secoh JDK replace an older Secoh EL pump?

Many JDK models supersede equivalent pumps from the older Secoh EL range. However, check the exact EL model, airflow, operating pressure and any alarm or signal requirements before selecting its replacement.

Can a Secoh JDK pump be repaired?

Yes. Secoh JDK pumps are serviceable and replacement diaphragms, filters and service kits are available for many models. If a pump has reduced output or stopped operating, servicing may be possible instead of replacing the complete pump.

How often should a Secoh JDK air filter be checked?

The filter should be inspected periodically and kept clean so that restricted airflow does not unnecessarily affect pump performance. The appropriate maintenance interval depends on the operating environment, so follow the maintenance information supplied for your particular pump and installation.

Why does backpressure matter when choosing a JDK pump?

A pump's airflow depends on the pressure it is working against. Aeration depth, diffusers, pipework and restrictions can all increase backpressure. This means a pump advertised by its nominal airflow may deliver a different airflow under actual operating conditions. Greenleaf Pumps provides performance information on individual JDK product pages to help with selection.
