About Us
Greenleaf Pumps is a family run business based in the UK. We work to provide pumps to our customers throughout the UK (excluding NI). We focus on air pumps, typically used for sewage treatment or pond/lake aeration.
We care about the environment and constantly work towards reducing our ecological impact. Our customers come to us because we are the environmental choice when purchasing a pump.
THE PROBLEM
The pump industry has remained mostly unchanged for the past decade. Staff travel to climate-controlled offices, arrange for pumps to stock warehouses, and then send customers pumps as they order them. The carbon produced through this process is unbelievably high.
Example annual carbon production:
- Running an office: 26.00 tonnes
- Staff commuting to the office: 2.16 tonnes
The figures above are calculated based on a staff of 10 people and an average commute of 1.5 miles. Calculations and sources are below.

Calculations and sources
Office carbon emissions: Calculated using an online tool* based on an office for ten staff. Commute carbon emissions: Calculated based on the following details.
- Avg. distance travelled/person for commuting purposes in England in 2019 by car/van: 782 miles.**
- Estimate number of staff: 10
- Total annual miles/year: 7,820
Total commuting emissions, calculated using an online tool* using the above data.
THE SOLUTION
Greenleaf Pumps is committed to offering an alternative to what has been the norm for so many years. We have been built from the ground up to provide quality pumps most ecologically.
-
Our staff work from home, so there is no commute, or office, producing carbon.
-
We ship each order directly from the manufacturer to our customers, saving the carbon produced by unnecessary stock deliveries and running the warehouse itself.
-
We have reduced our carbon emissions by an estimated 27 tonnes per year compared to the traditional method.
Of course, we are not perfect, and the fact remains that even shipping direct produces around 181g of CO2 per delivery, yet we cannot avoid it, so we offset it by planting a tree for each delivery.
There is still a lot of room for improvement, and we are working to find new and innovative ways to become truly carbon neutral.
